My academic paper focused on Shomei Tomatsu, his childhood traumas of World War II, and the therapeutic effect of photography. The paper won me an award for Sainsbury Institute for the Study of Japanese Arts and Cultures.

I conducted qualitative research at St. Jude under Dr. Victoria Willard surrounding the kinds of photographs adolescent and young adult cancer survivors share on social media, and how this photo-sharing can facilitate their meaning-making process.
- The project was presented at the 5th Global Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Congress held in Long Beach, CA.
